Senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district in the 10th senate, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has vowed to pursue the principle of robust representation for the good of not only his senatorial zone, but the entire Bauchi State and beyond.
Addressing a crowd of party supporters across the divide at a solidarity visit penultimate week at his Bauchi Constituency Office, Senator Buba said: “I remain most grateful and appreciative to all those who contributed positively to my victory at the poll. I know how we collectively suffered to achieve victory right from party primary to the general election. I have not forgotten your efforts of electing me as your senator.
“I have vowed from my inner self to bail out the senatorial zone from underdevelopment and other minuses that retarded progress. I have a blue-print for transformation and by the grace of the Almighty Allah, within my tenure, things would be better for all.
“I have no doubt in your continuous support to my efforts to collectively achieve success. We should play politics with decorum and understanding. We should not for any reason, overheat the polity no matter the challenges and advanced shenanigans. We belong to no particular person but to all”
In his earlier address, a chieftain of Bauchi State All Progressives Party (APC), Bello Pate, had given reason behind the solidarity visit to the senator. According to him, “We are here to reassure you of our unflinching support in representation. We are proud of your ongoing socioeconomic contributions and infrastructural development.
“Your contributions so far as a senator has proven to us that we had earlier missed the direction for good representation by electing inconsequential politicians that behaved more of merchants in the senate than representatives on an assignment.
“Within your short stay in the senate, you have transformed so many communities and positively touched so many lives. You have systematically moved from stage one of development to the next stage and by the grace of God, you shall excel in your assignment
“You are setting the pace in robust representation devoid of sentiments and partnering officially with the state government for better dividends of democracy irrespective of party difference
“After all, your political journey started right from 2007 along with other notables the likes of the present governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Muhammed, Shehu Musa Gabam, Abdulmumini Kundak, Aminu Tukur, Tanko Dutse, Muhammed Sade, Ahmed Tukur etc
“You are from the Isa Yuguda Political Revolution Group with the State Governor. We are still enjoying the legacies of that revolution that served with dexterity. We are therefore, not surprised of your generosity, focus, experience and political strategy”.
