Rivers Political Crisis Deepens As Four Commissioners Resign  

Four additional commissioners have tendered their resignation from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet amid the political tussle between the rivaled FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. 

Among the four commissioners who resigned are, Commissioner for Works, Dr George-Kelly Alabo; the Commissioner for Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inime Chinwenwo-Aguma; the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu; Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke.

 

In their resignation letter, the commissioners all thanked the governor for giving them the opportunity to serve in the Rivers state executive arm. 

 

Recall that the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, had earlier resigned on Thursday, December 14th 2023.
