A Chinese newborn baby boy lodged inside the sewage pipe of a toilet, has been rescued by Firefighters in China.

The infant was rescued recently from an apartment building in Jinhua city, Zhejiang province, when rescuers heard the infant’s cries.

Reports from China says the baby who is only few days old was found inside a pipe 10cm (4 in) in diameter

Firefighters and doctors worked together using pliers to cut the pipe apart to get to the baby.

The mother of the infant is yet to be named but reports claim she is 22.

Local police say that, so far, they believe her account of how the baby ended up in the pipe.

“That day she felt stomachaches,” said Jiang Song, the vice director of police. “So she went to the toilet. It was actually close to her due date and the baby just slid out.”

The police said the mother made attempts to retrieve the baby with a stick, then decided to flush the toilet to clear away the blood.

The police are labeling the case an “accident” at this time, and no charges have been filed against the mother of the baby.

The baby is back from the hospital and now in stable condition with maternal grandparents.
