Reps Ad-Hoc Panel Summons NSA Ribadu Over Alleged PFIPC Operations

The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, PFIPC, has summoned the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to appear before it.
Chairman of the committee, Representative Yusuf Mikhail Adamu, said the invitation became necessary following a statement by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs distancing the Federal Government from the council and declaring that its purported Director-General is not recognised.
According to Adamu, the committee is determined to uncover the truth surrounding the operations of the alleged council and ascertain whether it had any official approval.

“The appearance of the National Security Adviser will help clarify issues relating to national security, government authorisation and the activities of the organisation,” he stated.
The PFIPC, which the Presidency has disowned as fraudulent, was alleged to have operated from within the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, for about two years under one Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who paraded himself as Director-General.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out a thorough and transparent investigation, assuring Nigerians that anyone found culpable would be held accountable in accordance with the law.
