Repentant Boko Haram Kills Civilian Joint Task Force Member in Borno

A 25-year-old member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), identified as Adamu Ali, has been shot dead by a suspected repentant fighter linked to Boko Haram in Borno State.
The incident occurred on Friday April 3 in Mafa, where an argument reportedly broke out between the deceased and the suspect, 20-year-old Abba Gana, who was also operating within the CJTF structure.
According to sources, the disagreement escalated, and Gana allegedly opened fire on Ali, shooting him in the chest with an AK-47 rifle.
Ali was rushed to Mafa General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead on arrival.
The suspect was immediately apprehended by the local CJTF commander and handed over to the police. Security sources confirmed that the weapon used in the attack has been recovered.
The case has now been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Maiduguri, which has launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.
Authorities say further details will be released as investigations continue
