Rema Not Born Again, Ossai Questions N105m Donation to Christ Embassy

Renowned social commentator Ossai Ovie Success has shared his thoughts on Nigerian singer Rema’s recent donation of N105 million to Christ Embassy, a Benin-based church.
While acknowledging the generosity of the gesture, Success expressed concerns about the spiritual implications of giving to the church without being born again.
In a statement, Success said, “It’s disappointing that Rema donated N105m to Christ Embassy without giving his life to God. It will be disappointing to God for anyone to give money to His church without being born again.” He emphasized that giving to the church without surrendering one’s life to God may not resonate with Him, as He desires people’s hearts and souls, not just their wealth.
Success commended Rema’s willingness to support the gospel but encouraged him to recognize the eternal significance of surrendering his life to God. He stressed that the talents and resources God bestows upon individuals are meant to be used for His glory and to win souls for His kingdom.
The social commentator concluded by hoping that Rema’s donation would be a step towards a deeper spiritual commitment and that his talents would be used to further God’s kingdom. He emphasized the importance of utilizing every opportunity and gift to bring people to God, especially in a world where the kingdom of darkness actively seeks to claim souls.
The singer made the donation during a service he attended on Sunday, September 1, 2024
In a gesture captured in a video that has now gone viral, he expressed gratitude to the church for its guidance and support, especially for coming through for his family after the death of his father.
“I’m not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I’m here to give God the glory. I feel like it is important to give back because the church has embraced, and prayed for me, and has kept me very consistent with my spirit.
“Firstly, I want to give a pledge of N40m to the infrastructure of the church. I want to pledge N20m to Rhapsody of Realities, and being the fact that I came from the teen’s church, I also want to pledge N25m to the infrastructure of the teen’s church.
“I’m pledging N20 million to widows in church today,” he said.
