The Kogi State Government and key political stakeholders have pledged overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, citing the administration’s ongoing reforms and infrastructure drive.
They said backing the President at the polls would enable him to consolidate reforms they believe have placed the nation’s economy on the path of recovery, growth and prosperity.
The pledge came as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team concluded the third day of their inspection tour of federal and state government projects across Kogi State.
Speaking on Tuesday in Gbede, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said residents had embraced the Federal Government’s ongoing projects in the state and were eager to see more.
He expressed confidence that Kogi voters would reward President Tinubu and the APC with massive votes at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Fanwo said the President’s reforms had unlocked more resources for states, enabling the Kogi Government to execute landmark development projects across the state.
Leading the delegation, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare, said the administration’s infrastructure projects were restoring public confidence and renewing hope among Nigerians.
During the tour, the team inspected a 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage systems, a newly constructed Primary Health Centre, and the ongoing reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran–Ilorin Road by the Federal Government.
The delegation also visited rural road projects in Okene, the Lokoja International Market being developed on a 16-hectare site with about 50 per cent of the work completed, and the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.
Dare praised the Kogi State Government for its investments in education, healthcare, roads, security and human capital development, describing them as consistent with President Tinubu’s Eight-Point Agenda.
He said the projects showcased Governor Usman Ododo’s commitment to development while complementing the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We have just driven through a 15-kilometre internal road network in this town. Whether they are internal or federal roads, the level of infrastructure development in this state is impressive,” Dare said.
He added that the Tinubu administration had embarked on five legacy highway projects and more than 300 road projects nationwide to strengthen critical infrastructure.
Dare also noted that the Federal Executive Council approved the reconstruction of the Kabba–Ilorin Road after decades of neglect.
According to him, the government aims to rehabilitate strategic transport corridors to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods across the country.
“We saw heavy-duty trucks and major cement factories belonging to BUA and Mangal. Without good roads, industries like these cannot thrive,” he said.
He added that the administration had revitalised more than 1,000 Primary Health Centres nationwide, demonstrating its commitment to healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, and the oil and gas sector.
The delegation received a warm welcome in Egbe from the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, Tosin Olokun, and the Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Joseph Oluwasegun.
Both officials commended Governor Ododo for accelerating development in the area and appointing two indigenes of the community as commissioners.
In Okene, the Commissioner for Works, Abdulsalami Deedat, led the team on an inspection of newly completed concrete-paved roads, bridges and erosion control projects.
He praised Governor Ododo’s commitment to grassroots infrastructure while also applauding President Tinubu’s reforms, expressing confidence that Kogi would continue to support the President in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufor, said the Tinubu administration had prioritised road and infrastructure development because of their far-reaching impact on economic growth and national productivity.
