Price Control Bill Passes First Reading at Niger Assembly

A suggestion has been made for something called a Price Control Board in the Niger House of Assembly.

This board would be in charge of checking and controlling the prices of things that are very important.

The idea has passed its first stage in the Niger House of Assembly, which means it’s moving forward for more discussion and consideration.

This happened after Alhaji ISA Etsugaie (APC-Agaie), the person supporting the bill, presented its basic ideas during a meeting on Thursday.

When presenting the bill, Etsugaie explained that the board would look at how goods are bought and sold in the state, aiming to fix problems in how supply and demand work.

He also said the board would check how necessary items are delivered and shared out, making sure everyone gets a fair chance to buy them.

Etsugaie mentioned that the board would control how these items are given out and keep an eye on what the state supply company and other businesses are doing.

According to the lawmaker, the board would keep track of prices, understand why they change, and see how they affect the state’s economy.

He also said the board would send reports directly to the governor about the state of the market all across the state and other matters.

After this, the house agreed to the proposal, and it moved forward to the next stage of consideration.
