Premier League shortlists 4 managers and 6 players for October awards

The English Premier League have shortlisted 4 managers and 6 players who will jostle for the October best player and manager awards. Fans will be allowed to vote for their preferred candidate beginning from Monday 6 November.

The best manager award nominees comprises Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, Jürgen Klopp and Ange Postecoglou.

In the players category, Douglas Luiz, Mbeumo, Neto, Declan Rice, Cristian Romero and Mohamed Salah made the 6-man list.

All the managers who made the nomination list didn’t lose any of their three Premier League games last month. Ange Postecoglou had the best results amongst the four contenders after guiding Tottenham to three wins in three, Mikel Arteta, Jürgen Klopp and Unai Emery drew a game in their three league games in October.

On the same wavelength, all the six players shortlisted for the award have difnt lose any game with their club in October.

Bryan Mbeumo​ scored and assisted twice for Brentford last month, helping Brentford hold a terrific record as the only Premier League team to win three consecutive games at Stamford Bridge.

Although Pedro Neto didn’t score for Wolves ​ in all three games, his three assists have helped the Wolves maintain an unbeaten run for last month.

Declan Rice’s long-range goal against Chelsea and his immense contribution to Arsenal’s victory over City of October in which he scored one and assisted one earned him a spot as a contender.

Cristian Romero​ is the only nominee without a goal and an assist, but his contributions to Spur’s​ two clean sheets were huge in October. Tottenham, who lead the Premier League log along with Arsenal, remain unbeaten.

Mohamed Salah​ had the most goals (5) in the league last month. Although he had no assists, he has contributed brilliantly to Liverpool’s undefeated run last month.
