Power outages worsen business in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa

In the northeastern part of Nigeria, there are three states called Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe. These states are facing a lot of problems because of a group of people causing trouble, called insurgents.

They destroy important things like power lines, which means there isn’t enough electricity for people.

In Borno State, the power lines bringing electricity to the capital city, Maiduguri, were broken. Also, a new power station built by the NNPC has some problems and needs fixing.

Because of this, people in Maiduguri have to rely on generators to get electricity. This makes it hard for businesses to work, especially at night. There’s also a curfew, meaning people have to stay inside after 8 p.m.

In Yobe State, the situation is similar. Businesses are struggling because there isn’t enough electricity.

They have to buy diesel to run generators, which costs a lot of money. One person said they’re almost losing money because they spend so much on diesel.

In Adamawa State, the story is the same. People there are also having problems with electricity.

Some areas only get a few hours of electricity each day. This makes life difficult, especially when it’s hot and people need fans or air conditioning. Businesses, like hotels, are also affected.

One hotel manager said they spend a lot of money on diesel every year, and sometimes they have to borrow money just to keep their business running.

There are many reasons why there’s not enough electricity. One reason is that there isn’t enough gas for power plants to make electricity.

Also, people sometimes break or steal things that help provide electricity. And some people don’t pay their electricity bills, which makes it hard for companies to keep things running.

The lack of electricity is causing a lot of problems for people in these states. It’s making life difficult for businesses and regular people, and something needs to be done to fix it.
