The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has held a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state, urging officers to uphold professionalism, strengthen community policing and sustain efforts against crime.
The meeting, held in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police to promote professionalism and people-oriented policing, brought together senior officers of the Borno State Police Command, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Evans Elam Shem; Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Babagana Saje; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Bala Salihu Jarumai, as well as Heads of Departments and other senior officers.
Addressing the gathering, CP Abdulmajid commended officers and men of the Command, particularly Divisional Police Officers, for their commitment to ensuring effective policing within their Areas of Responsibility (AORs).
He charged officers to remain disciplined, civil and professional in the discharge of their duties, stressing the need to project a positive image of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner also announced that the Command would deepen community engagement at the grassroots level to strengthen collaboration with residents, encourage information sharing and enhance partnerships aimed at improving security across the state.
According to him, every police officer serves as an ambassador of the Force and must uphold its values through professionalism and integrity.
CP Abdulmajid disclosed that a review of the Command’s operations, based on available security intelligence, indicates that crime is on the decline across key indices. He added that the Command is intensifying the training and retraining of personnel to improve their capacity to respond to evolving security challenges.
He further revealed that the Command has begun preparations for upcoming electioneering activities to ensure adequate security before, during and after the electoral process.
