Police issue warning to troublemakers to avoid Yobe during Eid-el-Fitr festivities

—

The Yobe State Police Command has issued a stern warning to individuals intent on causing trouble within the state, cautioning them to desist from their activities or face the full force of the law.

This warning was delivered by CP Ahmed Garba during a press briefing following a strategic security council meeting chaired by the State Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana.

In his address, CP Ahmed Garba specifically targeted youth involved in cultism, drug-related offenses, and other criminal activities, both within the state capital and its surrounding areas.

“I am using this opportunity to warn trouble makers, especially youth cultists that are engaged in drug activities and other heinous crimes within and outside the state capital”

“The security agencies would not fold their arms and watch them taking laws into their hands causing mayhem to themselves as well as others.”

He emphasized that the security agencies would not tolerate any form of lawlessness and would take decisive action against those who choose to disrupt the peace.

Furthermore, Garba highlighted the readiness of security operatives to handle any potential disturbances, asserting that they have been thoroughly prepared to maintain order and ensure the safety of residents.

He urged parents and guardians to advise their children against frequenting areas known for criminal activities, particularly locations where drug peddling is rampant.

Additionally, the Police Commissioner underscored the collaboration between various law enforcement agencies, such as the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Yobe State Road Traffic Agency (YOROTA), in ensuring the safety of motorists and other road users during the upcoming festivities.

They have pledged to conduct special patrols to enforce traffic regulations and promote a smooth celebration period.
