Police in Anambra Nabs 2 Notorious Criminals, Recover Two AK-47 Rifles Stolen

A notorious cultist, Chitana Oha (popularly known as Kill and Bury) has been arrested by the operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, the spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga revealed on Monday.

Kill and Bury, a 25-year-old ring leader of a cult group responsible for killings in Ihiala and its environs, was said to have been arrested at about 2:20.pm on Sunday, alongside another notorious cult gang leader, Emmanuel Ifeanyi Okonkwo (aged 24 years), popularly known as Good and Bad.

According to a statement issued by Ikenga, the duo was arrested at their hideout during a special operation spearheaded by the Police Crack Squad deployed to Ihiala by the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, to provide security for the people of Ihiala both during and after the festive period.

“The Commissioner of Police who vowed to end the cult-related killings in Ihiala the same way he stamped out the menace in Awka Capital City, has directed the Crack Squad to go all out against the cultists and clip their wings.

“He assured members of the public that their security would continue to be the topmost priority of the Command,” the PPRO said.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Command says it has recovered two AK-47 Rifles stolen from two Police formations years back.

According to a press release by the PPRO, Anambra State Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, one of the rifles was stolen when  Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo was attacked by unknown gunmen in 2021.

“The second rifle was stolen from Area Command Headquarters, Ogidi early last year when the formation was attacked by insurgents.

Ikenga said; “Painstaking intelligence gathering by undercover operatives led to uncovering of a location where the arms were hidden in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA of the State.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, who commended the operatives for their diligence urged them not to relent until perpetrators of the attacks which claimed Police lives are brought to Justice.

“He assured the team that every logistic support they require would be provided until the objectives are achieved.”
