Awka – Following reports of suspected gay activities at “SWISSER SWISS CLASSIC HOME HOTEL AND SUITE” Ifitedunu, in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, Police operatives, on Sunday, arrested an undisclosed number of people, mostly men of different age brackets.
It was gathered that persons suspected to be homosexuals had held a birthday party at the hotel, with some of them eventually lodging at the facility after the party.
An indigene of the community, who pleaded anonymity, revealed to TNC correspondent that trouble had started when one of the invited male guests was allegedly sexually molested against his will.
It was gathered that the victim had following the incident, invited Policemen from Ukpo Police Division.
Pictures obtained in connection with the incident, reveal that the suspects attempted fleeing from all directions when Policemen arrived, leading to destruction of ceilings, roof and other items in the facility.
TNC Correspondent, who visited the facility this morning, on receipt of report of the incident, was taken to Police Anticult Office in Ukpo, where he met the arrested suspects.
His gadgets were searched and important information deleted before he was allowed to leave, after he identified himself properly at the police station.
When contacted to ascertain the number of persons arrested, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed said he was yet to get any details on the incident.
