Police arrest Delta Pharmacy owner who stripped lady for stealing milk

Mr Ndobu, the Owner of Wilmark Pharmacy and Stores, a popular business outlet in Delta State where a young Lady was stripped naked for stealing milk, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command.

Mr Ndobu has arrested the incident which happened on Monday, 13th of February at his supermarket located along old Lagos Asaba Road.
An online video has shown the girl stripped unclad, begging on her knees for mercy while another person suspected to be the shop owner was talking in the background.

The lady had while pleading for mercy, claiming the milk was for her child.

The act had been escalated by a Human Rights Group, Behind Bars Foundation, resulting in the arrest of Mr Ndobu who is said to be a Knight in the Anglican Church, operatives of Owa Oyibo Divisional Police Station.

According to the Human Right Group, BBI, who tracked Ndobu after the incident, asides being stripped naked, beaten up and filmed, the man also shaved off her hair while they made a video of the scene and posted on social media.

”We wish to inform the public that Mr. Ndobu has been arrested and detained at Owa Oyibo Divisional Police Station. His arrest was facilitated by Behind Bars Human Right Foundation in collaboration with Nigeria Police Area Command Agbor,” the group said.

It was however gathered that the lady does not have a child as she claimed and that she is suspected to be a Kleptomaniac because of her history of stealing and the kind of items she takes from their owners.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya said the investigation into the matter has commenced.

According to her, ”Yes, it is true. An investigation is ongoing. The suspect will be prosecuted. They have been invited for questioning. Both persons are being questioned so we can know what led to the incident.”
