Police arrest 2 armed robbery suspects, seize weapons and ammunition in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command announced the apprehension of two suspects involved in armed robbery.
This achievement was unveiled by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, in Jos, the state capital.
Alabo highlighted the pivotal role played by the public, particularly the residents of Plateau, in providing vital information to the police.
He credited their timely and accurate tips for aiding the Command in its mission to rid the state of criminal elements.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Hassan Yabanet, Alabo commended the unwavering support and cooperation received from Plateau residents.
He specifically acknowledged their contribution to the recent arrest of the armed robbery suspects in Mavo Community, located in the Wase Local Government Area of the state.
Detailing the operation, Alabo revealed that the arrests were made following credible intelligence received on April 10, 2024, at 16:30 hours regarding a robbery incident in Angwan Sakuwa-Mavo.
Acting swiftly, police detectives from the Wase Division, in collaboration with local security groups, apprehended Musa Adamu and Sale Joga, both residents of the Mavo community.
Significantly, the operation resulted in the recovery of crucial evidence, including an AK-47 rifle along with 7.62mm ammunition.
However, Alabo emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, indicating that the suspects will be prosecuted once it is concluded.
In a stern warning to criminals, the Commissioner of Police urged them to desist from their unlawful activities or face the consequences.
He asserted the police’s unwavering commitment to relentlessly pursue and apprehend criminals operating within the state’s borders, leaving no room for their nefarious deeds to thrive.
This notable success serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and the community, underscoring the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order.
