The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect named Ibrahim Ali in connection with the theft of a Toyota Starlet car during the Eid el-Fitr festivities in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.Â
This arrest was made as part of a routine stop and search operation conducted by police operatives from the Ngurore Divisional Headquarters.
According to the statement provided by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, Ibrahim Ali was apprehended on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, with the stolen vehicle bearing license plate number JMT 317 RY.
The suspect’s arrest came as a result of diligent police work during the heightened security measures put in place for the Sallah celebrations.
During interrogation, Ibrahim Ali confessed to stealing the vehicle in question from an unspecified location within Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.
This admission further solidifies the police’s case against him and underscores the importance of proactive policing in curbing criminal activities.
In light of these developments, Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, has urged members of the public, especially those who have had their vehicles stolen, to come forward to the Ngurore Divisional police Headquarters.
They are encouraged to provide proof of ownership to facilitate the return of their stolen property.
