Police Apprehend Bandit Treating Gunshot Wound In Plateau Hospital

Hours after an attack that claimed the lives of over 40 persons in Zurack Community, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, operatives of the Plateau state police command have arrested one of the bandits reportedly involved in the attack.

The spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, in a statement issued on Wednesday 22 May stated that the arrested bandit had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The statement reads; “Following the aggressive onslaught against bandits by a combined team of DSS and other security operatives in Bangalala Forest of Wase LGA of Plateau State, a border between Plateau, Bauchi and Taraba State respectfully, seven bandits have been neutralised in the area.

Other bandits who fled during the operation attacked Zurak and Dakai villages, killed nine persons and burnt down six houses while on the run.

The command is also pleased to announce to the state government and the people of Plateau State that one of the bandits who escaped and went to seek treatment at a hospital in Wase was arrested with gunshot wounds. The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Jos, for discreet investigation.”

Alabo also noted that the state commissioner of Police has assured that the police would not rest on its oars in securing lives of property of residents until the perpetrators of the evil act were arrested and brought to book.
