Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed five charges against Nigerian dancer Iweh Odinaka, known professionally as Poco Lee.
The court’s Admin Team Leader, James Baker, told journalists the charges include one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
Baker said a reporting restriction is in place to protect the complainant’s identity, in line with the Sexual Offenses (Amendment) Act 1992. Poco Lee is scheduled to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15, 2026. He remains on remand and has not been convicted of any offense.
A woman who goes by the name Ray on Instagram has denied any connection to the matter after her photo began circulating online alongside Poco Lee’s. Blog reports had claimed the two met after a show and agreed to a payment of about €50,000, a claim the court has not confirmed. Ray wrote that she does not know “the individual being referenced” and asked people to stop using her image to spread a false narrative.
Singer Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, released a video criticizing Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Olamide for staying silent on Poco Lee’s situation. He said the dancer had spent time in their company but was now receiving no support, as he is “in serious trouble.”
The video drew heavy criticism online. Many commenters argued that legal proceedings in the United Kingdom cannot be influenced the way disputes are sometimes settled in Nigeria, and that no amount of celebrity pressure would change the outcome of the case.
Poco Lee’s management has asked the public and media to avoid spreading unverified claims about the case and has called for a fair hearing through due process.

Reactions on X have been divided. Some users questioned why his Nigerian colleagues had not intervened, while others said UK courts could not be swayed the way matters are sometimes resolved in Nigeria. Commentator Daniel Regha wrote that public figures who defend Poco Lee purely because he is seen as “a good guy” reveal their own character, adding that the matter is already before the court. Other posts referenced forensic evidence said to have been collected as part of the investigation, though these claims have not been confirmed by the court or reported officially and should be treated as unverified.
The case continues at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, with the next hearing set for September 15.
