Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have discovered and safely detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mairari town along the Gajiram axis of Borno State, preventing a possible attack on civilians and security personnel.
According to security sources, the explosive device was detected at about 9:00 a.m. At the weekend by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and route scanning team operating from a Forward Operating Base in the area.

The sources revealed that the IED was strategically planted at the edge of the town’s exit gate, a location frequently used by residents and security operatives, heightening concerns over the intent to cause significant harm.
The swift response by the EOD team ensured the safe detonation of the device without casualties, underscoring ongoing efforts by security forces to maintain safety and prevent insurgent activities in the region.
Operation Hadin Kai continues its counter-insurgency operations across Borno and the North-East, with increased surveillance and clearance missions aimed at safeguarding communities and critical routes.
