Pepe becomes the oldest player to score a Champions League goal

Portuguese defender Pepe, became the first player to score a UEFA Champions League goal at 40 years. The Portuguese netted FC Porto’s second goal during their 2-0 convincing victory over Belgian pro league side Royal Antwerp.

Pepe’s second strike sealed a 2-0 convincing victory for Porto after Evanilson’s 32nd penalty spot conversion.

Pepe didn’t just make a record of being the oldest player scoring in the UEFA Champions League, he also became the oldest outfield player to start in a UCL match.

This season, in his 8th cap for Porto, he has posted 720 minutes with 2 goals contributions.

Being one of the most decorated players in the world, Pepe made most of his appearances with Los Blancos (334 caps) where he scored 15 goals and registered 20 assists. He has also won major trophies in that span, not only with Madrid but with other clubs, he has represented.
