Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, shaved his head on Friday, August 14, to match the hairstyle of his wife, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, known as Jarvis, after she faced criticism online for cutting her own hair.
Peller shared a video of the moment at a barbershop. He explained his decision to viewers before the barber began.
“So guys, I want to barb my hair to surprise my wife because she also barb her hair. Everybody is saying things, they are talking a lot about her. All the Nigerians, una dey whine my baby,” he said.
As the barber worked, Peller stayed in good spirits.
“Walahi, I still fine, take am, barb am,” he said.
He then went to show Jarvis the result. She did not respond right away.
“Report yourself, you did not check up on me,” she told him.
Once she agreed to see him, Jarvis looked at his new haircut with surprise as Peller told her, “My wife, I love you.”

The gesture followed days of speculation about why Jarvis shaved her head in the first place. Many assumed it was tied to tribal marriage customs, since the cut came shortly before her traditional and white weddings. Jarvis addressed the claims directly in a separate video.
“That’s what my hairstylist wanted because I have stubborn hair,” she said. “Most of my hair, my frontal have not been sitting pretty. It’s not that the stylists are not doing a good job but just that my hair is stubborn.”
She said her stylist suggested cutting it down to help her wig and frontal installations sit properly for her bridal looks, and she agreed.
“She told me if I can cut down the hair and I said why not? It’s my wedding and I want to look pretty as a bride,” Jarvis said.
Peller and Jarvis married across three ceremonies in Lagos and Edo State over the span of ten days. Their civil wedding took place in Lagos on July 29, 2026. Their traditional wedding followed in Lekki, Lagos, on August 1, 2026, drawing a large crowd of celebrities, musicians and influencers. The white wedding, a smaller and more private event limited to between 80 and 100 guests, took place on August 8, 2026, also in Lagos.
Reaction to Peller’s haircut spread quickly on X. Many users called the move a sign of genuine affection. One user, Lauretha Okezie, wrote, “You are doing great Peller, marriage doesn’t have formula. Anything you can do to make your wife happy go ahead. You guys will grow old together.”
Another user, who goes by Crisblack, wrote, “We can call him mumu all we want but one thing is true. If Jarvis lose this guy, she will never see any guy that we love her like this.”
Several users pointed out the resemblance between the two now that they share the same hairstyle. A user named Davido wrote, “They look so much alike. Who else noticed?”
Not every reaction was warm. Some users questioned Peller’s motives, and others suggested Jarvis’ expression in the video showed she was not entirely pleased. An X user known as Pujanatouch wrote that Jarvis “is not happy but that’s love.”
Peller and Jarvis have built a large following of over 15 million followers on TikTok over the past year through livestreams and shared content.
