PDP Vows to Regain Power in 2027

—

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its intention to reclaim power at the federal level in 2027.
This declaration was made by several prominent party members, including the PDP Governors, former Senate President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) Senator Adolphus Wabara, and the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum.
The announcement took place on Saturday during a grand civic reception and the 76th birthday celebration for Senator Wabara in Umuahia, Abia State.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, speaking on behalf of the PDP governors, expressed optimism about the party’s chances of returning to power.
He praised Senator Wabara, calling him a true democrat who has made significant sacrifices for Nigeria’s development.
Ambassador Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman, also praised Wabara, describing him as a stabilizing force who has brought valuable experience to the party’s leadership.
Damagum expressed confidence that the PDP will regain its influence in the South East and return to power in 2027. He stated, “All those temporarily migrating from the PDP will come back before 2027. PDP will take over what belongs to them. The PDP will come back sound, healthy, and victorious.”
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State lauded Senator Wabara as a symbol of democracy, while Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, who is from the ruling Labour Party, made a surprise appearance at the event. Otti praised Wabara as an elder statesman and a true son of Abia.
In his remarks, Senator Wabara pledged not to disappoint the party faithful and promised to work tirelessly for the PDP’s success.
The event was attended by several prominent PDP members, including Governors Bala Mohammed, Godwin Obaseki, and former Governor Okwesirieze Nwodo, among others.
