Panic in Borno as Boko Haram Attack Kukawa, NAF Jets Respond

—

Two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets, supported by ground troops, have repelled an attack by suspected terrorists on the headquarters of Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack reportedly caused panic among residents as gunshots were heard in the area on Tuesday night.
A resident who spoke about the incident said the situation became tense when the attackers began firing, forcing residents to seek safety.
“We started hearing gunshots from the terrorists, and we were panicking, but when two NAF jets came, we could no longer hear the gunshots,” the resident said.
According to the resident, the arrival of the fighter jets brought relief as security forces engaged the attackers and moved to repel the assault.
The military’s response reportedly helped to prevent the attackers from advancing further into the area.
Details of the incident, including the identities of the attackers, casualties and the extent of damage, remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.
