The Oyo State Government has expressed concern over the abduction of some National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from the state serving in Imo, describing the incident as distressing and reprehensible.
The state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan on Friday.

The government condemned the abduction and said its thoughts were with the affected corps members and their families.
According to the statement, the state government is in close contact with relevant security agencies, the Imo State Government and the leadership of the NYSC to ensure a coordinated and urgent response to the incident.
“We are fully committed to securing the safe release of our children and will stop at nothing to ensure that they are reunited with their families without harm,” the statement said.
It added that Gov. Seyi Makinde had directed the deployment of all necessary resources towards securing the victims’ release.
The statement said the governor had reiterated that the safety and well-being of every indigene of Oyo State, both within and outside the state, remained a priority.

The government urged the families of the abducted corps members to remain calm, assuring them that efforts were ongoing on all fronts to secure their safe release.
It also called on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible for the abduction.
