The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its National Campaign Council and a raft of specialised sub-committees ahead of the Osun State governorship election slated for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka and made available to The News Chronicle, the APC said the campaign council would be chaired by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The council’s co-chairmen are Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has been named Secretary.
According to the party, the council brings together top APC figures, including governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other key stakeholders tasked with delivering victory in the Osun governorship race.
To strengthen campaign operations, the APC also constituted specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, persons with disabilities mobilisation, and secretariat functions.
The party announced that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre, Abuja, by 12 noon.
