Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC), predicting another defeat for the party in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.
Davido reacted after top APC leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and more than 10 governors, converged on Osogbo for the party’s campaign mega rally.
Among the governors who arrived in the state were Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, also shared photos highlighting the arrival of the party’s leadership and governors in Osogbo.
Davido, whose uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election, reshared Oyetola’s post with a blunt prediction that the APC would lose despite the high-profile mobilisation.
“If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time,” the singer wrote.
“Ma LULE” is a reference to his earlier taunt against the APC, suggesting the party is heading for another electoral defeat in the state.
The APC’s show of strength comes as the party intensifies its campaign ahead of Saturday’s poll, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other contenders seek to unseat the incumbent.
With political heavyweights descending on Osun, the election has taken on a high-stakes character, with both major parties stepping up their final push for voters ahead of the vote.
