Osun NDLEA: 440 Drug Suspects Nabbed, 43 Jailed in 2025

The war against illicit drugs in Osun State gathered fierce momentum in 2025 as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) swept 440 suspected drug offenders off the streets and successfully nailed 43 of them to convictions. The figures, contained in the command’s annual performance report, paint a picture of an agency swinging the big stick against narcotics trafficking and abuse.

Beyond arrests and courtroom victories, the NDLEA said it also extended a hand of reform, counselling 156 drug users while four others underwent full rehabilitation during the year. A closer look at the arrests showed that 368 men and 72 women were caught in the drug net, with 71 of the male suspects charged to court, resulting in 43 convictions.

The report further revealed massive drug seizures, including 13,143.295 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa, 145.524 kilograms of psychotropic substances, 0.349 kilograms of methamphetamine and 0.029 kilograms of cocaine. To cap it all, the command stormed communities with 120 sensitisation and drug awareness campaigns, underscoring its resolve to choke both the supply and demand ends of the drug menace in the state.
