The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has departed Abuja for Osun State to attend the party’s final campaign rally ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
Atiku travelled to the state alongside the ADC National Leader, David Mark, as the party intensifies its campaign efforts ahead of the poll.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with candidates including Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the ADC’s Najeem Salam among the major contenders.

Salam, the ADC candidate, served as Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015. He was re-elected to the Assembly in 2015 and retained his position as Speaker until 2019.
