Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence in securing victory in Saturday’s governorship election, while calling on voters to remain peaceful and closely monitor the electoral process.
Adeleke spoke shortly after casting his ballot at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.
The governor arrived at the polling unit around 8am accompanied by a large crowd of supporters before casting his vote.
Speaking after voting, Adeleke declared that he expected the election to be peaceful and expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious.
“This election will be peaceful and I will win,” the governor said.
He urged residents across the state to turn out in large numbers to exercise their franchise, stressing the need for voters to protect their votes from the polling units through the completion of the electoral process.
Adeleke also appealed to voters to remain at their polling units and monitor the process in line with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“I want you people of Osun State to remain at your polling units and monitor the process in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,” he said.
The governor further urged voters and political actors to remain peaceful and law-abiding during voting, counting and collation, as the people of Osun decide who will govern the state for the next four years.
