Victor Osimhen’s dream move to PSG has fallen out due to a failure to reach an agreement between the two clubs.
As previously reported, PSG prioritized the Nigerian striker and identified him as a potential new addition. Many reports suggested that the French giants were prepared to trigger his reduced €100m release clause from Napoli.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal couldn’t proceed because PSG refused to include Kang-In Lee in the negotiations and did not trigger Osimhen’s release clause as expected by Napoli.
“Negotiations between PSG and Napoli for Osimhen are not advancing after recent talks. PSG rejected including Kang-In Lee in the deal and will not trigger the release clause as Napoli wanted. Deal NOT happening under these conditions.”
It is uncertain where Osimhen will be playing this season, as Napoli has identified Romelu Lukaku as a possible replacement.
After a tremendous season where he led Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years, the 25-year-old forward has been linked with top European clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Since joining Napoli from Lille, he has scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists in his 133 appearances.
