The governor of Niger State, Dr Babangida Aliyu has cried out that some highly placed individuals and the opposition in the state are plotting to destabilize the state.

The governor lamented that disgruntled politicians in the state are using the recent ban on motorcycles to execute their evil plans.

A statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo read, “The plot is being hatched by some highly placed individuals in the state including the opposition. A protest is being organized by a group of key figures in the state. It is astounding how petty some disgruntled politicians can sink by employing tricks to create the impression that things are not working.”

It continued, “The government of Niger State condemns this cheap blackmail being used by these disgruntled politicians who have lost out of the power game and are clutching at anything, including mere straws to remain relevant.”

The governor stated the ban on motorcycles was for the general good of the Niger people.

He said, “There is no need to politicize the issues on the ground, because innocent Nigerlites irrespective of their party affiliations suffer greatly with some even losing their lives often times when accidents involving motorcycles occur”.
