[OPINION] Leadership As Service

My people, WITNESS 2026.

Yesterday we talked about responsibility.

Today, let us talk about SERVICE

Nelson Mandela showed us what true leadership looks like.

He put people first.

Not as a ruler, but as a servant.

He used power wisely.

To lift the vulnerable and to heal a divided nation.

He understood sacrifice.

27 years in prison for justice.

He left without bitterness.

He chose forgiveness over revenge.

He suffered so that all could be free.

He walked in humility.

He admitted his faults.

He honored his rivals by inviting his jailers to his inauguration.

And he stepped down after one term.

To prove that no person is indispensable.

There is a time to Live, and a time to Leave.

Touch lives while you are here, so that you will still live even after you leave.

Nigeria, hear this:

Leadership is not in how many buildings we add.

Leadership is in how well the people inside live, and how we make them feel.

Impact without shouting.

Principles over noise.

Service over ego.

That is CONSCIENCE. COMPETENCE. CHARACTER.

As we go toward 2027, let us demand leaders who serve, not lords who rule.

God bless Nigeria.
