Former Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has narrated a disturbing interaction he once had with a self-acclaimed bandit during a TikTok session.
In an interview with News Central monitored by The News Chronicle, Dalung said he was browsing the app when a young man joined the live session and introduced himself as a bandit “trained in the bush.” Dalung confronted him, asking why bandits kill people.
According to Dalung, the bandit claimed their attacks were retaliation, alleging that vigilantes had previously killed their people and seized their cattle.
When Dalung pressed further, questioning why they also attack Fulani herders, the bandit reportedly replied that, “the only Fulani we know are those in the bush. Anyone in town is not Fulani. If we see them, we will kill them.”
Dalung said he then asked how the violent cycle could be stopped.
The bandit responded that they were willing to negotiate if the government wanted them to surrender their weapons.
“The confidence with which he spoke was terrifying,” Dalung said.
He urged the National Assembly to amend the constitution to allow citizens to bear arms for self-defense.
