Nollywood Star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Explains Why She Takes Breaks from Acting
The Ace Nollywood actress, fondly known as Omosexy, has finally opened up about why she takes periodic breaks from acting.
At 46, Omotola addressed fans who have been curious about why she seems to step away from her career from time to time.
In a post on her Instagram page, she explained that these breaks are intentional, allowing her to unwind and refresh after years of hard work.
She wrote:
“I know many people don’t understand why I take time off from acting for a few years before coming back. I’ve seen fans ask when I’ll return to the screen, but when you’ve been working since the age of 15 like I have, you’ll understand the need to relax, reflect, learn new things, and recharge. Who can relate?”
Omotola also mentioned that she visited Nigeria last December and left in March after filming two movies in February.

Starting her acting career at just 15, Omotola made her Nollywood debut as the lead actress in the 1995 film Venom of Justice. Since then, she has become one of the industry’s most beloved and respected stars.
