Nigerian Afrobeats singer Odumodublvck has remained silent while in the midst of a lawsuit.
Entertainment company Chocolate City Limited filed a lawsuit against rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, known professionally as Odumodublvck, over an alleged assault on one of its staff members.
Court documents connected to the case surfaced on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the High Court of Lagos State.

The claimant is Tochukwugbubemi Ojogwe, a Chocolate City employee who works as a project manager and public relations officer for the company. In his Statement of Claim, he describes himself as “a Nigerian citizen, a professional Project Manager and public relations officer in the Nigerian music and entertainment industry, an employee of Chocolate City Limited and a law-abiding member of society whose livelihood and professional reputation depend on his physical safety, emotional well-being, and ability to perform professional obligations without intimidation or violence.”
The alleged incident occurred on December 22, 2025, backstage at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos during the Flytime Music Festival, one of Nigeria’s largest annual entertainment events. According to the filing, Ojogwe was present at the festival in an official capacity, alongside Odumodublvck’s personal security and accredited event staff.
The court documents state that Odumodublvck approached Ojogwe and began what the filing calls a casual conversation before the encounter turned physical. “Shortly thereafter, the Defendant sighted the Claimant and walked up to him under the pretense of initiating a casual conversation, asking whether it was the Claimant or his brother that worked at Chocolate City,” the filing reads.
Ojogwe alleges that Odumodublvck then struck him without warning. “The Claimant avers that without any provocation, justification, or lawful excuse whatsoever, the Defendant forcefully struck the Claimant in the face and immediately thereafter pushed him,” the document states.
The lawsuit seeks a total of 54.5 million naira in damages. This includes 2 million naira for consultation, medication and follow-up care, 1 million naira for diagnostics, scans and transportation, and 1.5 million naira for other out-of-pocket medical expenses. The filing also seeks 50 million naira for financial losses, which Ojogwe attributes to missed bookings and delayed projects during what he calls one of the busiest periods in the Nigerian entertainment calendar. He states he was scheduled to travel outside Nigeria with a Chocolate City artiste for professional engagements but could not do so because of his injuries.
Beyond the financial claims, the suit alleges lasting emotional harm. “By reason of the Defendant’s wrongful and unlawful acts, he has suffered severe physical pain, emotional distress, embarrassment, and psychological trauma, which have substantially impaired his capacity to carry out his professional duties,” the filing states. Ojogwe also alleges that Odumodublvck has shown no remorse since the incident.
Chocolate City confirmed the affected staff member received medical attention and company support, and that the label is treating the matter seriously through the legal process. The case is now before the Lagos State High Court, where both parties will present evidence. Odumodublvck had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time both reports were published.
The lawsuit comes as Odumodublvck remains active in music. He appears on the new single “Okpeke” with DJ Neptune and Joeboy, released this week, and recently performed as a support act on Davido’s 5ive Alive World Tour.
