Obidient, Kwankwasiyya Leaders Announce Emergency World Press Conference Amid Democracy Concerns

The Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement have announced an emergency World Press Conference aimed at addressing the state of Nigeria’s democracy.

The conference, themed “Save Our Democracy,” is scheduled to hold at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Obidient Movement Headquarters, opposite Stella Maris School, Life Camp, Abuja.

In a statement issued by the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, the groups called on members of the media, civil society organisations, and the general public to attend the briefing.

The invitation comes amid the Obidient Movement’s recent political alliance and coalition with the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Tanko urged Nigerians to join the movement in what he described as a collective effort to safeguard the nation’s democracy.
