Obiano targets greater prudence with appointment of aide on cost efficiency

The Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano today swore in Mr. Ernest Adinweruka as his Special Adviser on Cost efficiency, Research, and Development.

The swearing-in happened during the meeting of the State Executive Council at the EXCO chambers of Government House, Awka.

Adinweruka before the latest appointment had served in various other capacities under the incumbent administration, such as Senior Special Assistant on Donor Agency and Financial Institutions as well as Executive Director for Financial Institutions under the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA).

A financial consultant, he had put in over twenty years in the banking sector, where he had risen to the position of Assistant General Manager at Fidelity Bank Plc.

Performing the swearing-in, Governor Obiano commended the appointee for his outstanding performance in his former responsibilities and urged him to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to bring about greater efficiency and prudence in the state administration.

“I implore you to shun any form of corrupt practice and to ensure transparency, accountability and strictly adhere to international best practices in financial scrutiny in the discharge of your responsibility. We hope that you bring your wealth of experience in financial management to bear in the course of this service to the state. My government will avail you all the support you require to achieve this,” the governor reassured.

Responding, Mr. Adinweruka expressed appreciation to the Governor for the privilege and opportunity given to him to serve the state.

“On my honor, I promise to use my experience and good office to serve the state with utmost dedication, loyalty, honesty, and commitment,” he said.
