Obiano emerges APGA candidate for Anambra 2014 election

Yesterday, Chief Willie Obiano, Deputy Director of Fidelity Bank PLC emerged winner in the primaries conducted by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka, Anambra state ahead of the 2014 election in the state.

According to the Chairman of the electoral Panel, Chief Martin Agbaso,  Obiano polled 817 votes out of the possible 1,076 to defeat House of Representatives member Mrs Uche Ekwunife, who got 150 votes; Chief Paul Odenigbo (49 votes), Emeka Nwogbo (22 votes) John Nwosu (18 votes) and  Mr. John Emeka, one vote.

Chief Patrick Obianwu also from Anambra north, stepped down for Obiano, saying his his decision would help Anambra zone realize its dream.

Obiano hails from Anambra East council in the Anambra North Senatorial Zone of the state, where APGA had stated that it zoned the governorship position to Anambra north.
