Obi Shares Pride as College He Helped Launch Produces 116 Graduates With 100% Pass Rate

Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has celebrated the maiden graduation ceremony of Millennium College of Nursing Sciences, Awka, describing it as a testament to the transformative power of investing in education and human capital.

In a statement made available to The News Chronicle, Obi said he was delighted to witness the historic milestone, revealing that the initial financial support he provided to the institution served as the seed funding that enabled it to commence operations successfully.

According to him, the Provost of the college, Mrs Chisom C. Ezulike, informed him that his early intervention laid the foundation for the institution’s growth, while his subsequent contributions also played a significant role in making the first graduation ceremony a reality.

Obi said there was no greater fulfilment than seeing a modest investment blossom into an institution that is changing lives and strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

He noted that the college has now produced 116 pioneer graduates, all of whom recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria’s professional examination.

Describing the achievement as proof that investments in education and healthcare yield the greatest returns, Obi stressed that developing human capital remains the surest path to national growth and sustainable development.

He congratulated the pioneer Class of 2025, as well as the proprietor, management, faculty, benefactors and all those whose dedication made the milestone possible.

Obi urged governments, institutions and well-meaning Nigerians to continue prioritising education, healthcare and human capital development, insisting that they remain the strongest pillars for building a prosperous nation.
