Obi Cubana Reveals Family’s Generational Curse as He Honors Late Mother’s Attempt to Break It

Popular Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obinna Oyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana, recently revealed that no one in his family has ever lived to the age of 80.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwu, Obi Cubana shared that his late mother made an attempt to break this generational curse but sadly passed away at the age of 79.

He explained that because of this family history, they decided to throw an extravagant funeral for his mother, who had come so close to breaking the jinx.

In my family, nobody has lived up to 80 years, and I’m saying this for the first time,” Obi Cubana said. “My father died at 66, my grandmother died at 75, my grandfather died at 78, and this pattern continued until my mother. All my siblings are married and successful, and we were all hoping and praying that my mother would be the one to break this generational jinx. We even started saving up for a big celebration once she turned 80.” He added.

Tragically, his mother passed away on December 31 at the age of 79, just after celebrating her 78th birthday. Despite her not reaching 80, Obi Cubana and his family decided to honor her efforts by going all out for her burial.

She tried her best at 79 and a half, so we brought everything together to celebrate her. She almost broke the jinx, and that was why we spared no expense for the burial,” he added.

Recall the burial in 2021 that was the talk of the town with many celebrities in attendance.

In the end, Obi Cubana’s family honored their mother with a grand farewell, cherishing the fact that she came closer than anyone else to breaking the family’s generational curse.
