NYSC Relocates 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Camp to Bauchi College

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the relocation of its orientation camp for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members to the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, Bauchi State.
This temporary move is intended to accommodate the rehabilitation of the Permanent Orientation Camp located in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.
The NYSC Coordinator in Bauchi State, Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, made this announcement in a statement on Monday 26 August, 2024.
She explained that the relocation was necessary to enable the state government to carry out a complete renovation of the camp’s existing facilities.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, had earlier issued a directive for the renovation work.
“The relocation to the new facility becomes necessary to allow the state government to pursue the renovation work of the permanent orientation camp,” Mrs. Yakubu explained in her statement.
The newly selected facility, Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, will serve as the temporary orientation camp while the rehabilitation of the permanent site takes place.
This relocation underscores the state government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring better conditions for the corps members during their orientation program.
Mrs. Yakubu further revealed that a total of 1,900 prospective corps members have been deployed to Bauchi State for the upcoming orientation exercise.
The exercise is scheduled to commence on August 28, 2024, and will run through September 17, 2024.
The NYSC orientation program is a significant part of the national service, where corps members receive essential training in preparation for their one-year mandatory service across the country.
The rehabilitation of the permanent orientation camp is expected to enhance the overall experience and welfare of corps members posted to Bauchi State in the future.
