Declaring the training programme open for the Nurses at Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakin emphasised the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the healthcare sector. She encouraged participants to take advantage of the training to improve their skills and knowledge.

She reiterated the State Government’s commitment to capacity building of officers irrespective of cadres, stating that by investing in Nurses, the Government is demonstrating its commitment to providing quality healthcare services to citizens while recognising that human capital development was key to sustainable growth and development.

The training programme for the Nurses, themed: “Excellent Critical Thinking and Clinical Reasoning for Effective Service Delivery”, is aimed at enhancing the critical skills of Nurses, which would enable them to deliver high-quality services to patients.

Similarly in her address to Teachers, Abidakun admonished them to take personal responsibility for their professional development, saying that teaching is a continuous learning process.

She emphasised the importance of self-development, noting that teachers must stay ahead of the curve to effectively impart knowledge to their students.

The Teachers’ training programme, with the theme, “Active Learning Methodologies to Make Teaching More Meaningful”, is being held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC).

Present at the events were the Director of Training, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite; the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Dele Balogun and the Director of Establishments, Mrs. Bukola Olagbaju.
