NUJ Zone A commends Tinubu for providing Ramadan packages to its members

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone A expressed its appreciation towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his generous donation of 700 bags of 5kg rice, aimed at supporting the welfare of journalists during the Ramadan season in Zone A (Northwest).
The commendation was conveyed by Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, the National Zonal Secretary of NUJ Zone A, in a statement released to the press on Sunday in Gusau.
Highlighting the significance of President Tinubu’s contribution, the union emphasized the gesture’s role in underscoring his commitment to supporting journalists’ welfare in the region.
The Ramadan welfare initiative, facilitated by the Office of the National Security Adviser, through the Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, was seen as a tangible demonstration of President Tinubu’s support for the journalistic community.
According to Kaura, each state council within NUJ Zone A, encompassing Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states, received 100 bags of rice, ensuring fair and equitable distribution among members.
The NUJ zonal office took charge of coordinating the transportation and distribution of the rice to ensure prompt delivery to journalists across the region.
Malam Tukur Muhammad Umar, the Vice President of NUJ Zone A, also lauded President Tinubu’s gesture as a welcome development.
He emphasized that the donation reflected President Tinubu’s acknowledgment of the crucial role journalists play in society and his commitment to their well-being.
The union expressed gratitude for the support extended to its members during the Ramadan period, viewing it as a testament to the strong bond between journalists and the broader community they serve.
