NSCDC, Nigerian Army Strengthen Alliance to Tackle Insecurity in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, and the Nigerian Army have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint operations to tackle security threats in the state.

The commitment was made on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the newly posted Commanding Officer of the 14 Field Engineer Regiment, Onitsha, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Awudu Enyia, to the Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Maku Olatunde, at the Corps’ headquarters in Awka.

According to the NSCDC, the visit was aimed at deepening the existing relationship between the two security agencies and fostering greater synergy in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

Speaking during the visit, Lt. Col. Enyia stressed the importance of sustained collaboration among security agencies, describing it as essential to addressing the country’s evolving security challenges.

He commended the NSCDC for its professionalism and sustained efforts in protecting critical national, state, and local government assets and infrastructure. He also expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his team.

In his response, Commandant Olatunde reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with the Nigerian Army, noting that intelligence sharing, mutual support, and strategic cooperation remain indispensable to safeguarding lives and property.

He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration between the two agencies would further enhance their capacity to combat insecurity and strengthen existing institutional partnerships in Anambra State.

The NSCDC Commandant also wished the new Commanding Officer a successful and impactful tenure.

Senior officers from both agencies attended the meeting, which concluded with the signing of the visitors’ register, an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
