The Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is gearing up for a smooth Eid-al-Fitr celebration in the state by deploying a significant number of personnel. 

According to Bala Garba, the command’s Public Relations Officer, a total of 862 personnel have been mobilized for this purpose.

This deployment comes under the directive of the State Commandant, Adamu Zakari, who aims to ensure security across the 17 local government areas of the state in anticipation of the upcoming Sallah festival.

The personnel are drawn from various specialized units within the NSCDC, including the Female Strike Force, Counter Terrorist Squad (CTS), Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Anti-Vandal Department, Intelligence and Investigations (INTs), Agro Rangers, and Operations Department. Their primary task is to maintain peace and security during the festivities.

Garba emphasized the importance of proactive measures and treating the public with respect while carrying out their duties.

He also expressed appreciation for the law-abiding nature of the people of Yobe State and extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of Ramadan fasting, wishing them a prosperous Sallah celebration in advance.

In addition to their security duties, Garba urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest security agency.

This collaborative effort between the NSCDC and the community is crucial for ensuring a safe and enjoyable Eid-al-Fitr celebration for everyone in Yobe State.
