NPFL Organizers announce new date for the second round

—

The Nigeria Premier Football League has announced a new date for the second round of the 2023-24 season. The return leg, which was originally scheduled to begin February 3, 2024, has been extended to February 14, 2024.

In the document sent to clubs by the Chief Operating Officer of the league organizer endorsed by Prince Davidson Owumi, it was stated that the decision was agreed so as to capture the complete attention of players, fans, and all other stakeholders at this time of the prime African football tournament.

The statement sincerely regrets any disruption this new arrangement would cause the schedule of various clubs, while urging all clubs to make necessary preparations for the new kick-off date.

After match day 19, Lobi Stars of Makurdi leads on the log with 36 points, Remo Stars of Ikenne Ogun State sits at the second spot with a point adrift of the league leaders while Doma United settles at the third spot with 32 points.

Gombe United, Sporting Lagos, Bayelsa United and Heartland FC of Owerri battled at the relegation zone.

Sikiru Alimo of Remo Stars leads the goal chat with 11 goals.
