Nottingham Forest Sack Sean Dyche After Four Months

—

Having fired Sean Dyche only 114 days after hiring him, Nottingham Forest have brought the team one step closer to an almost unheard-of fourth permanent manager in a Premier League season.

Forest’s third head coach of the 2025-26 season, Dyche, took over in October. His departure follows an exasperating scoreless draw against Wolves, in which Forest fired 35 shots yet scored none. As owner Evangelos Marinakis chose yet another change in the dugout, the outcome turned out to be definitive.

In a quick statement, the club acknowledged Dyche’s resignation and expressed gratitude to him and his team for their work. No further remark will be given.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest started the season before separating in September. Ange Postecoglou followed but endured an eight-match winless stretch and was also fired. Ten victories from twenty-five games were under Dyche’s leadership; however, he found it difficult to elevate the squad out of a relegation threat.

With other seasoned names linked, as Forest searches for stability, The News Chronicle reports that former Wolves coach Vitor Pereira is among the leading candidates to fill the role.

With 12 league games remaining, the team currently leads by three points in the relegation zone. Immediate pressure will be on whoever enters next to ensure top-flight survival and stop a choppy season that has already pushed fans’ patience to its breaking point.
