Northern Youth Urges President Tinubu to Re-evaluate Cabinet and Appoint Effective Ministers

The Coalition of Northern Youths Consultative Movement (CNYCM) has urged President Bola Tinubu to reassess his cabinet and appoint ministers who are dynamic and capable of driving significant improvements.

The group specifically identified Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Nyesom Wike, and David Umahi as standout figures, lauding their impressive performances and potential for key ministerial positions.

During a press conference held in Abuja on Saturday, the group’s General Secretary, Comrade Bilal Galadima, alongside its Kaduna State Coordinator, Yusuf Audu, emphasized the necessity for the President to select ministers who are results-oriented, visionary, and dedicated to the advancement of Nigeria.

“The likes of Tunji-Ojo, Wike, and Umahi have demonstrated outstanding leadership and should be given prominent roles in the cabinet,” the statement read.

The CNYCM highlighted the achievements of these three ministers, praising Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, for his visionary reforms and efforts to enhance the ministry’s efficiency.

They also commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his transformative impact on Abuja, which has significantly improved the city’s environment for both residents and visitors.

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, received recognition for his relentless efforts in advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure and ensuring the timely completion of various projects.

In addition to acknowledging these individual successes, the CNYCM voiced concerns about escalating national tensions due to planned protests against perceived poor governance, rising living costs, and increasing insecurity, particularly in northern regions.

The group stressed the importance of constructive dialogue to address these issues and prevent further hardship for the populace.

Furthermore, the CNYCM applauded several accomplishments of President Tinubu’s administration.

These include the establishment of Regional Development Commissions, the increase in the minimum wage to N70,000, and significant reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidies and improvements in passport processing times.

The coalition urged the government to build on these successes while addressing current challenges to foster a more stable and prosperous Nigeria.

The coalition reiterated its commitment to supporting government efforts and called for immediate actions to tackle pressing issues.

They emphasized the importance of ensuring a stable and prosperous future for Nigerian youth and the nation at large.
