Northern Nigeria’s First Professor of Education, Adamu Baikie, Dies at 94

Professor Adamu Baikie, the first Professor of Education in Northern Nigeria, has died at the age of 94.
He passed away on Friday evening at his residence in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Professor Baikie was a highly respected educationist, academic, and university administrator. During his lifetime, he served as Vice-Chancellor in several Nigerian universities and also held similar positions in foreign institutions.
His eldest son, Major (rtd) Muhammad Adamu, confirmed his death to journalists.
According to him, Professor Baikie is survived by five children. He also said that details of the funeral prayers will be announced later
